PEOPLE selling fireworks illegally have been warned they will be prosecuted.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has issued the warning after reports of people selling fireworks from vans and private homes.
Senior explosives inspector Roger Marris said anyone found storing or selling fireworks illegally would be prosecuted.
He added: "It is highly probable that fireworks sold in this way are being stored illegally and we will not hesitate to take legal action in such circumstances.
"Anyone storing more than 5kg of fireworks needs to obtain a licence from the fire service.
"It is also an offence to hawk explosives, including fireworks, in a public place."
Anybody found guilty of selling or storing fireworks faces a fine of £5,000.
Anyone who knows or suspects that fireworks are being sold illegally should ring 01274 682311.
