A POPULAR exhibition about Britain in the Second World War is returning to Red House Museum, Gomersal.

All Clear on the Home Front brings to life memories of wartime Kirklees, using objects, images, memories and sounds.

Displays cover air raids, the blackout, rationing, make-do-and-mend, work and leisure, the Home Guard and personal relationships.

One exhibit is a glass sweets jar which survived a bomb blast in Dewsbury in 1940.

The exhibition's return marks the 60th anniversary of the war's end.

It opens on Saturday and can be seen until November next year.
