This is the terrifying moment an arsonist fire-bombed a woman’s car as her young children slept just yards away.

Nataliee Simpson says her three young sons have been left traumatised after the man smashed the windows of her silver Peugeot and set it alight.

The blaze even spread to nearby hedges, which are attached the family home in Dewsbury Moor, meaning her young family’s safety were put at risk.

Nataliee, 25, said the blaze on Tuesday night last week followed a recent spate of car fires in the area which have been done “out of spite” due to ongoing unrest in the community.

“My children’s school uniforms, pram and birth certificates were in the car at the time and have been destroyed,” said full-time mum Nataliee.

Her eldest son witnessed the fire and has been waking up screaming after having nightmares.

Nataliee says the culprit “doesn’t deserve the oxygen they breathe.”

She said: “There has been an ongoing dispute in the area and as a result people’s cars have been set on fire. It’s not been anything to do with me so it just feels even more senseless.

“The car can be replaced, it’s just the fact my children’s thing were in there that gets to me.

“My baby’s first pair of shoes were destroyed after he only got them days before. My eldest’s school uniform was in there, as well as their birth certificates.

“I’ve been left having to borrow money to buy a new pram and getting taxis to take my kids to school.

“I’m a full time mum and it’s now approaching Christmas. How could someone do this to children?”

Nataliee said her eldest son was forced to witness the fire after it was started at around 11.15pm last Tuesday.

“He came out and saw the fire and ever since he’s had trouble sleeping.

“I can’t sleep either and when I finally do, I’m woken up by him screaming. It makes you feel unsafe in your own home.”

Another car was also set on fire on the same street on the same night, and police have been investigating.
