The fight to save A&E at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary is attracting massive support.

And the latest campaigner to join the fight is Huddersfield prankster Speedo Shy.

True to form, he stripped down to his trunks outside the hospital to film a video which has already attracted many views.

Speedo is former University of Huddersfield student Shayan Shayegani and his previous antics have seen him dancing on the tills in Huddersfield’s Asda store , and handing out flowers and chocolates to volunteers helping revellers in the town centre.

It’s not always been good news: he appeared in court and was fined for popping a balloon arch at the university’s graduation party.

But he is genuine in his support for the campaign to stop health bosses shutting much of the A & E unit at the Infirmary and moving services to Calderdale.

“A lot of people had asked me to get involved and to do a video for the campaign.

“I want to use my social media followers to help the campaign.

“I was up there yesterday and did my routine for the camera outside the main entrance.

“A lot of people were baffled by what I was doing and the hospital security moved me on twice, but I persevered - even though it was very cold.
