It was released on Friday to get fanfare, with Apple addicts queueing through the night to make sure they got their hands on one.

But complaints are already being aired about the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus - namely that the model bends when kept in users' pockets.

Angry Apple customers took to the internet to complain about the alleged defect, posting images of their bent iPhones online via the Macrumours forums.

One user said he had kept his new iPhone in his front pocket during a wedding, but realised the next day it had bent out of shape.

The news has been dubbed #bendgate on Twitter, with users having little sympathy for iPhone six owners.

Macrumours has advised iPhone 6 owners to take their phones out of their pockets before sitting or bending, while Apple has yet to comment on the issue.

Do you have the new iPhone? Has yours bent out of shape?
