Police are hoping you may be able to help them catch an armed robber who held a knife to the throat of a female shop worker during a robbery.

British Transport Police have released the CCTV above in which a terrified member of staff in a newsagents is threatened with the knife - held just millimetres from her throat.

Police hope that because of the location of Brooks newsagents in Neville Street near Leeds railway station then other people who were heading to the train station may be able to help.

Detective Constable Jason Ridgway said: “The attacker entered Brooks newsagent in Neville Street near Leeds railway station at around 12.15pm on Saturday, November 15 and held a knife against the throat of the woman cashier and demanded she open the till.

“The man grabbed some money and ran out of the shop, threatening to stab the cashier if she followed him.

“If you recognise the man in the footage, please contact us, this was a frightening attack which has left the victim extremely shaken and it is vital that we trace the person responsible.”
