HAPPY couple Stuart and Dorothy Schofield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in style with two parties.
Mr Schofield, 74, and his wife, who is 71, planned a big party with family and friends at The Grange in Grange Moor.
They were also the guests of honour at a second party, held by Kirkheaton Senior Citi- zens' Club.
The couple - pictured now and on their wedding day - met at the then Carlton Cinema in Blacker Road, Birkby, in 1951 and it was love at first sight.
They were married at Kirkheaton Parish Church and set up home in Mountfield Road, Waterloo, where they still live.
Mr Schofield served his apprenticeship in engineering at Brook Motors, Folly Hall.
He did his two years' National Service with the Army's Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
He later worked as a tool-maker for David Brown Tractors at Meltham for 27 years.
His wife was a cotton doubler at Arthur Farrar's Waterloo mill.
They have two children - Paul, 48, and Valerie, 45 - and two grandchildren, Stephanie, 18, and Emma, 16.
The couple enjoy gardening together and are active members of Kirkheaton Senior Citi- zens' Club.
