A WATERLOO man put his hand through his father’s window following an argument.

Clinford Joseph, of Waterloo Rise, admitted criminal damage when he appeared before Kirklees magistrates.

The bench was told that the window belonged to Joseph’s father, named Western.

James Weekes, prosecuting, said: “Having been released from prison he had been staying for a period with his father.

“On a regular basis when he had been drinking he would become abusive and aggressive towards him.

“On the day he had done just that and his father lost his patience and asked him to leave.

“Clinford came downstairs holding his hand and his father saw he was bleeding.”

Joseph, 30, claimed that he had broken the window while trying to shut it and not in anger.

Mr Weekes said that Joseph held a string of previous convictions, many of which he had committed in drink.

He said that the most recent offence happened whilst he was on a conditional discharge for being drunk and disorderly.

Magistrates ordered Joseph to pay £60 compensation and £85 costs.
