STAFF at a Huddersfield bookshop held a pink themed day to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.
Employees at Waterstones in Kingsgate dressed in pink on Saturday and created tasty treats from The Pink Cookbook – produced by Breast Cancer Care – for customers to try.
Beauty demonstrations were also held in store by The Body Shop and a prize draw was held.
For every cookbook sold, £1 was donated to the cancer charity and prize draw entries were also charged at £1. The Body Shop also donated a percentage of the sales made from their demonstration.
The fundraising event was organised by Waterstones assistant manager Catherine Haynes, whose mother has recently recovered from breast cancer.
She said: “My mum was diagnosed in February and straightaway Breast Cancer Care gave her so much information and support. Without their help it would have been a much more lonely and worrying time for her. I felt helpless when she was ill so I wanted to do something for the charity.”
