A NEW website to help older people stay healthy has been launched.

The website time2beactive is funded by NHS Kirklees and managed by Kirklees Council Culture and Leisure Services.

It was launched at the Kirklees Active Older People 5th Annual Conference which this year was entitled ‘Move with Me’ at the Textile Centre, Red Doles Lane.

Clr Mary Harkin officially launched the website and said: “It is great to be involved with time2beactive. It is fantastic to see all the activities that take place throughout Kirklees for adults and older people.”

There is a section on the website where people can have a workout in the comfort of their own homes.

The conference itself was a huge success and was attended by over 200 people.

Kelly Brown, the Active Older People Project leader, said: “It was great to see so many people here this year”.
