LINCOLN City boss Peter Jackson has been sacked by the club.

Former Huddersfield Town boss Jackson, who joined the club in October 2007 after leaving Town in March 2007,  will be replaced in the short term by first-team coach Simon Clark and head of youth Tom Spall.

Jackson's assistant Iffy Onoura has also departed Sincil Bank.

In a statement about Jackson's departure, the Lincoln City board said: "We have been disappointed with the poor start to this campaign and the early exit from two cup competitions.

"It is with regret that the board have made this decision, however the bottom line is the need for results."
