MISSING sex offender Mohammed Rafiq Passwala has been found in Liverpool.

Passwala, 52, left Fieldhead Hospital, Wakefield shortly after 9am last Thursday.

It is now known that after leaving Fieldhead, he took a taxi to Dewsbury bus station, where he was caught on the station's CCTV cameras at around 9:58am that morning.

He is then known to have caught a bus to Leeds city centre.

He is originally from Bradford and was convicted of sexual offences in 1996.

Police said they considered him a risk to women and young children, any members of the public who saw Mr Passwala were asked not to approach him.

He was found by West Yorkshire Police officers working for the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team at around 3.45pm and was detained under the Mental Health Act.

Mr Passwala will now be assessed before being transported to West Yorkshire later this evening.
