A £2m skills centre is coming to Rastrick.

And education officials hope it will improve the lives of children and young people in Calderdale.

The new purpose built Lower Valley Skills Centre at Rastrick High School will open in the 2010 school year.

It will provide skills training to over 16s in hospitality, construction, and manufacturing and product design.

The facilities have been designed to allow students with physical disabilities to access the courses.

Around 100 young people, mainly from schools across the Lower Calder Valley, will benefit each school year.
