STRONG arm tactics by two fitness fanatics netted hundreds of pounds for charity.
Steve Taylor, 36 and Aaron Taylor, 23, lifted a staggering 100 tonnes of weight in two hours to raise more than £200.
They plan to divide the cash between Cancer Research and the Intensive Care Unit at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
Steve is a policeman in Manchester while Aaron owns the Bodybeat Health and Fitness Club in New Mill where the marathon weights session took place.
"It was a good laugh," said Aaron after the pair had completed the challenge. "We are still both smiling. There were plenty of people cheering us on."
Aaron had to step in at the last minute after Steve's first training partner pulled out.
Steve is a keen runner.
"I usually run half marathons and to me the idea was to do a marathon but with weights," he said.
