THE Huddersfield area has been revealed as one of Britain’s hottest spots for filming.

Yorkshire Locations, which finds places for filming or photoshoots, says the district is one of the areas most in demand by its client companies.

The company, which was launched last year, is seeking more properties in the area to keep up with demand.

Yorkshire Locations founder Nick Jones said: “There’s been a huge demand for properties in Huddersfield, so we now need to find more in the area.

“We need everything from mansions to apartments, period and contemporary.

“People’s property could earn them money. Property owners can earn hundreds of pounds a day, depending on the type of filming and time required.”

The Huddersfield area has often been seen on TV.

Sitcom Last Of The Summer Wine is filmed around the Holme Valley and ITV drama series Where The Heart Is was set in Slaithwaite and the Colne Valley.

Properties most in demand are houses with large open-plan living or kitchen areas, to allow extra space for cast and crew.

But almost all kinds of property are needed.

Anyone who wants their property used as a filming location can visit www.yorkshirelocations.co.uk to register for free.

A photographer will be sent out to view and take pictures for the company’s database.
