A new memorial to former Huddersfield politician Harold Wilson has been unveiled in Westminster Abbey.

The former Prime Minister has been honoured with an engraved ledger stone in the Abbey.

It was unveiled during a moving service attended by members of his family, including his widow Lady Mary Wilson.

The stone was dedicated during the service by leading clergy, including the Dean of the Abbey and the Bishop of Wakefield.

It pays tribute to Lord Wilson’s two stints as Labour Prime Minister.

Lord Wilson was born in Cowlersley and went to school in Milnsbridge.
