FOG, frost, drizzle...we've had the lot in Huddersfield this week.

But it now seems likely the town will escape the snow and sleet forecast by many to bring an Arctic feel to the weather.

And there has also been an opportunity for local people to capture the wintry weather in all its glory.

Readers have submitted these images of a spectacular sunrise and sunset in the town this week.

David Armitage, chairman of Sellers International, was captivated by the image of Emley Moor TV mast.

He was trapped in a traffic jam at Flockton as the sun set - creating a sky filled with a red and orange glow.

He said: "I had my camera in the car and managed to get this shot from the window. It was stunning".

Benjamin Dale, of Leeds, was in Huddersfield when he saw a spectacular sunrise.

He took photographs from the top of the Springwood car park.

"I think this is true urban beauty, showing that even inner city areas of Huddersfield are beautiful".
