DETECTIVES probing the murder of a four-year-old girl are hunting for a man.

The dramatic new twist came as the mother of Leticia Aalayah Wright appeared in court in connection with her death.

Leticia (pictured) died in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as a result of complications arising from multiple injuries.

Her mother, 22-year-old Sharon Wright, appeared before Huddersfield Magistrates yesterday charged with causing or allowing the death of a child.

The charge is part of the 2004 Domestic Violence Crime And Victims Act.

In the aftermath of the case, police have now confirmed they are seeking Wright's boyfriend.

He has not been named, but he is not Leticia's father.

Paramedics were called to Leticia's home on Almondbury Bank, Almondbury, at 11.15am on Saturday night.

She was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary by paramedics.

Doctors and nurses there tried to save her life, but she died a short time later.

Wright appeared in the dock wearing a bright blue sweatshirt with long, mousey brown hair dangling to below her shoulders.

She showed no emotion during the hearing.

Wright - who originally comes from Dewsbury and is unemployed - was remanded in custody after being refused bail by the magistrates.

She will next appear before Bradford Crown Court for a preliminary hearing next Wednesday.
