A FRIGHT night is being held in aid of the Laura Crane Trust.

People are being dared to spend the night ‘ghost-hunting’ in a gothic mansion at Alton Towers to support the teenager cancer charity.

Pam Thornes, fundraising manager for the Huddersfield- based trust, said the night offered participants the thrill of a life-time.

“The night begins with a tour of the building detailing real-life experiences and historical information researched by experts.

“This will set the scene before you are joined by paranormal investigators and mediums to try to experience paranormal activity in one of the most haunted buildings in Staffordshire.”

The fright night is from 9pm on Saturday August 23 until 5am the following day.

Participants would need to raise sponsorship for the trust, which funds research into cancers specifically affecting people aged 13-24.

It also supports young people in hospitals and helps them in the aftermath of their illness.

It was formed after the death of Laura, a former Greenhead College student, in 1996.
