A woman was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Huddersfield town centre today.
The woman, aged 59, was hit by a red Peugeot 107 in the New Street and Cloth Hall Street area of the town centre at 1.16pm.
Police said her injuries were serious but no further information is known.
A West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “The emergency services took her to hospital.
“We had to close the road off, from the junction with Kirkgate, for some time while emergency services attended her at the scene.”
