A 90-year-old woman was pushed over when she was confronted in her own home by a masked man who demanded money.

The intruder forced his way into the woman’s home in New Hey Road, Outlane , at 5.35pm on Friday.

The man demanded cash and shoved the woman over before fleeing.

Police have now appealed for witnesses and said the suspect wore a zipped up jacket and a black balaclava.

Det Con Andy Clayton, of Huddersfield CID, said: “We are appealing to anyone who has any information about this attempted robbery.

“The victim is an elderly lady who was shaken up by the incident and we hope that members of the public will be able to help us with our enquiries.”
