A WOMAN who was badly bitten by a dog wants to track down the owner.

Mrs Bryden Noble was walking her own pet in Hagg Wood, Brockholes, when the animal struck.

Mrs Noble was walking with her Labrador Chloe off the lead as a man came towards her.

The man, in his 50s, quite tall and well-built, had his brown German Shepherd on a lead.

Mrs Noble said ‘hello’ but as the two crossed the German Shepherd snapped out at her, biting her leg just above the knee.

Mrs Noble said: “I didn’t scream. I just said ‘your dog has bit me’.

“He said something about the dog being nervous and carried on walking.

“I looked down and saw the hole in my trousers and the blood and tried to get him to stop, but he disappeared into the woods.”

Mrs Noble needed four stitches in a deep flesh wound and reported the attack to police.

“I was lucky, but a child could have been badly hurt,” she said.

“I would recognise this man again and if I find out who he is I will go back to the police.”

The attack happened at 11.30am on Monday January 14 in Lancaster Lane.

Anyone with information should ring police on 101.
