A 22-year-old Huddersfield woman was arrested last night in connection with a robbery that resulted in a four hour armed siege by police officers at a block of flats.

The drama began at 2.54pm on Monday in Bradford when police were called to the Low Moor area of the city.

The suspect fled in a car resulting in a helicopter chase to flats at Chesil Bank, Quarmby.

At least eight armed officers, dogs and other officers surrounded the flats and began a number of searches.

At 7.30pm a 24-year-old Huddersfield man was arrested from the flats and is now in custody.

As well as arresting the 22-year-old woman late last night police are also hunting a third suspect who is known to them

Bradford CID are now handling the inquiry.
