A DRIVER was badly hurt in a crash at Meltham.

The 64-year-old Slaithwaite woman broke a hip, ribs and an ankle when her Peugeot 106 was in collision with a Honda Accord taxi at the junction of Thick Hollins Road and Wilshaw Road at 11.30am yesterday.

She is said to be in a comfortable condition in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

The taxi driver, a 30-year-old man, was unhurt.

His passenger, a 42- year-old Hepworth woman, suffered whiplash injuries.
