A WOMAN breached her bail conditions to rush to her partner’s aid as he was assaulted, a court heard.
Joanne Thorpe, of Birch Road, Berry Brow, appeared in custody at Huddersfield Magistrates’ Court.
She is due to appear in court on November 11 charged with affray and possession of class A and B drugs.
Thorpe’s bail conditions are that she lives and sleeps at her address, doesn’t enter Vale Close in Almondbury and adheres to a 7pm and 7am curfew.
She was arrested early yesterday for breaching the latter condition.
The court was told police went to check on her at her home just after midnight but there was no reply.
Thorpe said she had been initially unable to get to the door because she was in the bathroom due to a medical problem.
As her partner returned home he was assaulted outside the house. Thorpe ran outside to help, also being hurt, and reported the attack to police.
She was then arrested for breaking bail conditions. Thorpe was bailed again, but her curfew will now be electronically monitored.
