A WOMAN chased a thief in Birkby after he stole her bag.
She was walking along Wheathouse Road at 5.25pm yesterday, holding a bag in her right hand.
It was snatched violently from her grasp and the thief ran off.
The woman gave chase, but lost him in some nearby gardens.
The suspect is described as an African- Caribbean aged about 20. He is 5ft 5in to 5ft 6in tall and stocky.
He was clean-shaven, with a fresh complexion and a round face.
He was wearing a dark coat which had a hood with fur round it, beige/cream trousers and light trainers.
