A WOMAN has appeared in court facing charges of assault and criminal damage.

Gemma Alcock, 29, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

She is accused of assaulting Zoe Walker in Lepton and damaging a door and telephone belonging to her.

Alcock, of Wilton Street in Newcastle-under-Lyme, is also charged with assaulting a police officer.

The alleged offences took place at a property on Woodlands End in Lepton on June 13.

Alcock denies the damage charges and assaulting Miss Walker.

She did admit attacking the police officer.

Alcock faces trial for the other three offences at the Huddersfield court.

Magistrates told her that this will take place on September 4.

Her bail conditions are not to enter Woodlands End nor contact Miss Walker.
