A WOMAN has appeared before Kirklees magistrates accused of attacking her partner with an umbrella.

Elizabeth Anderson, of no fixed address, denies assaulting David Woodhouse on October 16 at the couple’s home in Lockbridge Way at Milnsbridge.

Bill Astin, prosecuting, said Anderson became aggressive and picked up an umbrella and hit Mr Woodhouse several times over the head and body.

Anderson, 45, then allegedly followed her partner into the bathroom and continued the assault.

She then allegedly damaged £2,000 worth of furniture after Mr Woodhouse left to call police.

Anderson denies the damage and faces trial at the Huddersfield court on January 16.

She has admitted assaulting an officer on the basis of recklessness.

Anderson was granted unconditional bail.
