A woman has appeared in court after a two-year-old boy was allegedly bitten by a Pit Bull Terrier belonging to her.

Tiffany Snow, of Huddersfield Road in Shelley, was before Kirklees Magistrates’ Court in Huddersfield yesterday.

The 20-year-old faces four charges under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.

These include two charges of possession of a fighting dog, a Pit Bull Terrier.

Snow is also accused of owning a dog which was dangerously out of control and having a dog which injured another while dangerously out of control.

The alleged offences happened at Snow’s former address in Elmwood Close in Highfields, near Edgerton , on September 19.

Prosecutor Andy Wills said that a two-year-old boy and his father were walking past when they were approached by two dogs.

He told magistrates that one of them ran forward and bit the boy on his leg, causing a deep wound that he needed hospital treatment.

Snow denies the charges and magistrates decided that her case will be heard at Leeds Crown Court.

She will appear on December 18. Unconditional bail was granted.
