A WOMAN tried to jump into a river while drunk, a court was told.
Tina Lyall, 57, of Lipscombe Street, Milnsbridge, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place when she appeared at Kirklees Magistrates Court yesterday.
Prosecutor Alex Bozman, said the incident happened in Market Street, Milnsbridge, on August 18, when Lyall was witnessed attempting to jump into the river.
Mr Bozman said: “She swore at the [police] officers and seemed to go through a series of mood swings between behaving well and swearing at them.
“They tried to get her out of the area and she wasn’t co-operative.
“In the end she asked them to take her to the cells and they duly obliged.”
Magistrates were told that Lyall had no previous convictions but had a caution for being drunk and disorderly from earlier this year.
Magistrates bound Lyall over to keep the peace for 12 months.
If she ignores this order she will be fined £50.
