THIS is the woman accused of stabbing a man with a stiletto heel.

Staci Hargreaves was at Bradford Crown Court accused of wounding Gavin Taylor.

Mr Taylor, 28, who was allegedly stabbed through the eye by a stiletto heel is not well enough to make a statement about the incident.

He was transferred to the Leeds General Infirmary after suffering the freak injury in the back of a taxi as he travelled home following a night out in Huddersfield town centre.

Yesterday 33-year-old Hargreaves, of Heyrod Street, Stalybridge, Cheshire, made her first appearance before a crown court judge accused of wounding Mr Taylor with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.

Judge Peter Benson, sitting at Bradford Crown Court, was told by prosecutor Stephen Wood that, at the end of the night out, Mr Taylor, the defendant and another man got in the taxi and during the journey there was allegedly a disagreement between Hargreaves and the complainant.

He said the taxi driver stopped his vehicle when he realised that Mr Taylor had been seriously injured.

Mr Wood said at one stage it was feared that Mr Taylor may not survive.

“He is not fit to make a statement at the moment and that situation will have to be kept under constant review,” said Mr Wood.

“Your honour will appreciate that significant quantities of evidence are to be served of a medical nature.”

Hargreaves was not required to enter any plea to the charge during yesterday’s brief preliminary hearing and she was granted bail until a plea and case management hearing on April 29.

Judge Benson told Hargreaves that a provisional three-day trial had been fixed for July 19.
