A WOMAN fell to her death off a bridge onto the M62 motorway today.
The woman, who has not been named, plunged off the flyover in Rein Road, Morley.
Police closed the westbound carriageway between junctions 27 at Gildersome and 28 at Tingley.
The tragedy happened at about 2.30pm and police and emergency services were called to the scene.
All three lanes of the motorway were closed for about an hour.
There were reports of some drivers doing U-turns on the motorway and driving the wrong way up a slip road to escape the congestion.
After an hour two lanes were re-opened and queues eased.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said inquiries were on-going to identify the woman and inform relatives.
