A WOMAN found with stab wounds in Huddersfield town centre has been accused of murder.

Amara Hartley, 40, has appeared in court and is charged with a murder in Wakefield.

She was detained in Chapel Hill, Huddersfield, by police investigating the death of a 77-year-old found with stab wounds in her Wakefield home.

Margaret Hartley’s body was discovered at the property in Cross Keys Court, Horbury, on Friday, May 15.

She was found dead hours after police officers went to her home, following the arrest in Huddersfield.

Amara Hartley, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody by Wakefield magistrates charged with murder.

She will next appear at Leeds Crown Court on Friday, October 9.
