A HIT and run driver left a 34-year-old woman lying in the gutter.
Susan Rothery had just got off a bus on Bluebell Hill, Taylor Hill just after 6pm on Saturday and remembers hearing a screech of brakes.
The next moment she came round lying in the road.
Susan, of Taylor Hill, said: "The driver obviously knew he had hit me because he'd braked.
"I remember coming to in the road and thinking I needed to get off it in case anything else was coming.
"It turned out I was in the gutter."
A girl who had also got off the bus rushed to help her, along with three men.
Susan suffered a gash under her chin, a grazed forehead and bruises.
"I think I was very lucky not to have been more seriously hurt," she said.
Police have now appealed for anyone who can describe the car involved in the incident - make, model or registration number - to come forward.
