A WOMAN was taken to hospital following a car crash at the weekend.

She was hurt when her blue Renault Clio was in collision with a grey Land Rover on Kaye Lane in Almondbury at 2.45pm on Saturday.

Fire crews from Huddersfield and Slaithwaite raced to the scene.

Huddersfield watch manager Tony Bateman said: “There was a big side impact which had pushed the engine right over.

“We took the door off and managed to get her out. She had cuts and bruises and was shaken up.”

The woman, who is in her late 40s, was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
