A WOMAN spent eight days in hospital recovering from injuries she suffered when she was pulled down stone steps by a marauding gang.

The 37-year-old victim was badly injured after she went to have words with the youths causing a nuisance at the flats where she lives.

The attack was at flats in High Street, Heckmondwike, at 6.20pm on January 7, but details have just been released.

The youths had got into the flats and were running about in the building, knocking on doors and playing about in a lift.

The victim was taken to Dewsbury District Hospital suffering from broken bones and bruising.

The main entrance to the flats overlooks High Street in Heckmondwike.

One of the attackers was a white boy aged about 14 and 5ft 6in tall.

He was slim with short dark hair and a spotty complexion.

He was wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans and a white baseball cap.
