A 28-year-old woman is critically ill after a crash in Netherton.

And police revealed she had been involved in another accident minutes earlier.

In the second crash, at 3.20am yesterday, her red BMW smashed into a wall at Moor Lane.

The woman, who lives in Marsden, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and then transferred to Leeds General Infirmary for specialist treatment.

She was said to be seriously ill but stable today.

Police say in the earlier crash, at Lockwood Scar, she hit some bollards.

They are anxious to speak to anyone who may have seen the BMW being driven between Lockwood Scar and Netherton.
