A WOMAN tried to kill herself by driving down a banking.

Police said the 53-year-old from Holmfirth tried to take her own life at Holme Moss on Sunday.

A spokesman from the Valleys Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Officers attended a report of a female attempting to commit suicide by driving her vehicle over the edge of the car park at Holme Moss.

“When officers arrived she had driven off the car park 200 yards down Holme Moss.

“She was still in the vehicle when officers managed to pull her from the vehicle.

“She was unharmed but detained for her own well being.”

The woman was rescued from her blue Volkswagen Beetle and taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as a precaution.
