A Linthwaite woman has been banned from driving for three years after drink-driving twice in less than a month.

Laura Crosfield, of Causeway Side, pleaded guilty to two charges of driving whilst over the prescribed limit.

The 29-year-old said that she started drinking after her father was arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images.

Kirklees Magistrates’ Court heard that the first offence occurred on May 17 at 3.40am.

Police saw her driving erratically on Manchester Road in Linthwaite and pulled her over.

Police station breath tests revealed that she had 62 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

While Crosfield was on bail for the offence she got behind the wheel again after drinking on June 11.

This time she was seen by CCTV operatives monitoring Harrogate town centre at 5.30am.

They called police as they felt that Crosfield was showing sigs of being under the influence and they arrested her.

She gave a positive roadside breath test and had 42 microgrammes of alcohol in breath.

Crosfield claimed that the first incident happened after a make friend spiked her drink.

She added that the second drink-drive offence occurred after a customer bought her a drink during her work at a bar in Harrogate.

As well as being banned from driving Crosfield was sentenced to a community order with 25 days of rehabilitative activities.

She must pay £85 costs and £115 costs.
