A woman was seriously injured after being knocked down by a car this morning.

The 66-year-old was on Sheepridge Road when she was involved in a collision with a blue Citroen car at 6.48am.

She was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment.

A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police said: “There was a collision involving a female pedestrian and a blue Citroen.

“She was taken to LGI where a doctor has confirmed she does not have life-threatening injuries but she remains seriously injured.

“Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes following a serious collision on Sheepridge Road, near Bracken Hall Road.

“We have officers still at the scene.”
