Woman seriously injured in Crow Edge crash

Police were called at 5.36am at Penistone Road

A woman was seriously injured when her car left the road and crashed at Crow Edge this morning.

The crash happened at 5.36am when the blue Ford Fiesta left Penistone Road and crashed near the Fox House Inn.

Police and ambulance crews were called and the woman driver was treated at the scene by paramedics.

She was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Traffic is expected to remain congested in the area for some time as the road which carries traffic from Holmfirth and through Hade Edge into South Yorkshire, was closed until 8.15am.
