A 22-YEAR-OLD woman stole a mobile phone and cash from a bag at a bowling alley.

Anne-Marie Castle struck after spotting the unattended bag at Superbowl on Leeds Road, Huddersfield, on May 27.

The victim was busy at a children's party, but saw Castle acting suspiciously near the bag and confronted her outside.

At first she denied the offence, but later admitted it in police interviews.

She admitted theft when she appeared before Huddersfield magistrates yesterday.

Sentence was adjourned until June 27 after magistrates heard that Castle had a previous conviction for robbery.

She is of no fixed abode.

Her solicitor, Robert Carr, said: "It was a stupid offence on the spur of the moment."
