A WOMAN was carjacked at knifepoint as she drove home alone.

The 38-year-old had stopped her Nissan Micra at traffic lights at King's Mill Lane at the bottom of Newsome Road at 1am today when the passenger door was opened and the man repeated demands for her to get out.

When she saw he had a knife she got out and he drove off in the small silver car.

The car, registration number YA53 DSZ, is still missing.

If anyone sees it they should call police immediately.

The carjacker is white, about 5ft 7ins tall and slim with dark thick eyebrows, shadows beneath his eyes and stubble.

He wore a dark- coloured hooded coat and a woollen scarf.
