THE trial of a woman accused of murdering her grandmother has been postponed.

Joanne Hussey, 33, was due to stand trial yesterday for the murder of 76-year-old Annie Garbutt.

However, proceedings at Leeds Crown Court yesterday had to be postponed because witnesses for the prosecution were unavailable.

A new trial date has been fixed for December 13. The trial is expected to last for seven days.

Mrs Garbutt’s body was found at her home in The Clough, Mirfield, in May.

Hussey, of Grange Mount, Yeadon, near Leeds, formerly entered her not guilty plea to the murder allegation during a hearing at Bradford Crown Court last month.
