SHOPKEEPERS are being urged to be vigilant after a group of women tried to pay for goods with a fake £50 note.

The latest incident happened on July 12 at 1pm when three women entered Bridge Antiques in Milnsbridge.

After browsing in the shop, one of the women tried to buy a low cost item with a £50 note.

The shopkeeper became suspicious and asked the woman if she had any smaller notes.

The woman left the shop without buying anything, the shopkeeper noticing that she had a quantity of £50 notes on her as she left.

The women were described as being of eastern European descent. One was in her late 20s or early 30s and had a full set of gold teeth.

One of the other women was of similar age, the third much younger.
