A group of women are uniting to oppose cuts to hospital provision.
A group called Women Against the Cuts is highlighting the potential loss of Accident and Emergency (A&E) provision at the hospital trust running Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital.
Group member Abi Shaw said: “As a resident of Huddersfield I have used HRI’s A&E services a number of times.
“For me this is not an issue about who keeps their A&E department, Huddersfield and Halifax both need accessible local emergency care without the long waiting times a merger would create.”
Women Against the Cuts Kirklees formed to oppose and fight cuts to local services and the wider austerity measures.
They will meet again on April 1 at 6pm at the Irish Centre, Fitzwilliam Street, Huddersfield and they are inviting others to join them.
