ONE hundred years of a women’s group has been celebrated.
The New North Road Baptist Church Women's League marked their 100th birthday with a party for members.
Leader Carol Sandys welcomed the 20-plus members to the event, including oldest member 94-year-old Lilian Wheeler.
They were joined by Minister Dr Philip Clements-Jewery, former Minister Rowland Cole.
Former leader Mrs Beryl Cole also joined them as well as the group’s members.
The Women’s League meets at the church every Thursday for social events, hymns and guest speakers on a variety of subjects.
The meeting starts at 2pm and lasts one hour and is open to female church members.
