Work planned at busy M1-M62 junction

SAFETY work will be carried out at the M1-M62 Lofthouse Interchange, near Wakefield, starting on Monday, February 21.

SAFETY work will be carried out at the M1-M62 Lofthouse Interchange, near Wakefield, starting on Monday, February 21.

Bridge supports will be strengthened and safety fencing upgraded. Work is due to finish by March 21.

The scheme will affect about a mile of the M1.

Three narrowed lanes will be open in both directions on weekdays. Overnight southbound and all weekend traffic on the M1 will be reduced to two lanes. There will be one lane northbound at night.
