WORKERS at a Huddersfield engineering firm have raised more than £2,000 for Kirkwood Hospice, Dalton.

Employees at Holset Engineering, on St Andrew's Road, Turnbridge, raised £2,135 by taking part in raffles last summer and at Christmas.

The raffles were organised by Tony Lambe, who has been a painter and decorator at the firm since 1973. He has been organising them since 1994.

He said: "The workforce are very supportive.

"We are like one big family here and unfortunately, someone always knows someone who has had to use the hospice. It is very dear to us.

"It's a fantastic place and is used by Huddersfield people."
