MOTOR manufacturer Brook Crompton celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.

Past and present employees are being invited to attend the centenary party in September.

Founded by Ernest Brook in 1904, the firm exports its products to more than 50 countries.

But the company has also experienced a rocky recent history.

In May, it announced 45 redundancies.

That means just 100 workers are left at the Huddersfield factory in St Thomas's Road.

It was the latest round of job cuts for Brook Crompton, which once employed many hundreds at sites in Huddersfield and Honley.

Bosses will be holding a party for former and present employees on September 20 in Huddersfield.

There will be memorabilia on display as well as entertainment.

Anyone who would like to join in the celebration can apply for tickets at www.centen ary.brookcrompton. co.uk or telephone 01484 557200.

The closing date for tickets will be the end of July.
